The official website of Girlguiding UK. This site has information on what GirlGuiding UK is all about as well as plenty of information about how to get involved.
This site has been designed just for Rainbows. It has stories, games, activities and printable colouring sheets. Parents/Carers - please remember to supervise your daughter while she is on the web!
This website is designed with 5-7 year olds in mind. It aims to educate children in the safe use of the internet and who to talk to if they have any worries.
I have found so much information on this website. Includes information on customs, holidays, games, has maths, literacy and science zones ... everything you could think of!

We are going to be doing lots of new activities to get us fit in the run-up to the 2012 Olympics and thought we'd teach our Rainbows to skip. The skip-hop website has loads of information to help you learn to skip, including tricks, rhymes and games. Barny says she used to skip all the time with her friends when she was in primary school, so is looking forward to helping the Rainbows learn!

The 1st Brackla Rainbows Web Safe Code
Girlguiding UK wants to make the Web as safe a place as possible for Rainbows and we recommend that they are supervised when using the Web. The following Top Tips are taken from the Rainbows Pot of Gold booklet, the Brownies Web Safe Code and from the ThinkUKnow website listed above:

TOP TIPS

  • Always ask a grown up before you use the internet. Always follow the rules your parent or carer sets you about the best way to use the computer ... they can help you find the best pages to visit!
  • Don’t tell strangers where you live, your phone number or where you go to school and don't put that information about yourself on websites. Only your friends and family need to know that information! And if someone asks you to tell them your details, tell your parents straight away!
  • Don’t send pictures to people you don’t know or put them up on websites. You don’t want strangers looking at photos of you, your friends or your family.
  • Don't talk to people you don't know on websites.
  • Tell a grown up if you feel scared or unhappy about anything or if you find something on the web that worries or upsets you.
  • Ask a grown up to help you put the Hector's World Safety Button on your computer. This will mean you can press it if anything makes you scared or unhappy.
