Who are Rainbows?

Rainbows are incredibly special people!

Rainbows are the youngest members of the wider Girlguiding family in the United Kingdom. Girls can join Rainbows when they are aged between 5 and 7 years old. When they turn 7 they can go on to become a Brownie and then later a Guide. Girlguiding UK celebrated it's Centenary Year in 2010 which gave us a great excuse to take part in lots of special parties and events!

Being a member of Girlguiding opens up a world of opportunities that can last a lifetime. Rainbows is a safe, girl-only space where each girl can take part in a wide range of fun activities. It provides a place to make new friends, to build self-confidence and to start learning about decision-making.

Throughout her time in Rainbows, each girl will enjoy a varied and balanced programme of activities delivered through the Rainbows Jigsaw. This is made up of four areas:

Rainbows look at how they fit into the world, locally and globally; they learn through doing, playing and having fun; they take part in all sorts of activities to make them laugh; and they make friends and learn to care and love.

Once girls are settled and happy in Rainbows, they work towards making their Rainbow Promise:

I promise that I will do my best to love my God and to be kind and helpful.

Once they are enrolled they get to wear the fab, red Rainbows uniform.

At 1st Brackla Rainbows we have one main aim - that our Rainbows enjoy themselves. By getting to know each girl, we can make sure that each term our programme has something each and every one will enjoy!
